Errors can sometimes occur, or information may be missing. I am also not responsible for other people’s websites and content that my website may link to. I have not validated and am not responsible for any information, events, or services provided by third parties. I do not provide medical or legal advice or services, it is for informational purposes only. I do not assume any responsibility if my website does not function properly or if you incur any damages from using my website. Data Protection

Data Security

To ensure the security of user data during transmission over the internet, I use modern encryption technologies such as SSL via HTTPS. The security of your personal data is a high priority for me. I follow standard procedures to protect transmitted user data both during transmission and storage. However, no online data transmission or storage method is 100% secure. For this reason, I cannot guarantee absolute security. To protect the data as best as possible, I store personal data on systems that are not directly accessible by me. This may include servers at data centers, hosting partners, or backup servers. I take data security seriously and strive to protect it appropriately.

Processing of Personal Data

Personal data may only be collected and processed in accordance with data protection laws and regulations. This website may store certain personal data on the server, especially if you fill out and submit a form. I use the data you provide exclusively for processing your request and for any further communication that may arise from a potential business relationship between you and me. Under certain circumstances, these data may also be stored on the server for security and backup purposes, as well as for statistical analysis. The maximum retention period for this data is 24 months, after which it will be automatically deleted. Your information will be treated as confidential and will never be sold or disclosed to third parties without your prior consent. You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data at any time by sending a written request to the following address: contact(at)joannetheisen.com.

Newsletter

Subscribing to the Newsletter

You can subscribe to my newsletter to receive regular email updates from me. For this, I need your valid email address, which you can provide via the registration form. By doing so, you confirm that you are the owner of the email address and that you consent to receive emails from me as long as you wish. To comply with data protection laws, I record the process of your newsletter registration and your consent. I store your email address, the date of your registration, your IP address, and your preferred language. If you provided additional information such as your name or interests during registration, this information will also be stored.

Unsubscribing from the Newsletter

You can decide at any time that you no longer wish to receive newsletters from me, either entirely or only on specific topics. To do so, simply click on the unsubscribe link at the end of a newsletter. However, for technical reasons, your email address may remain stored in my database even after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. This is done to prevent unintentional re-subscriptions or reactivation of your subscription. In this case, your email address will be stored as an inactive entry and will not be used for sending further newsletters under any circumstances.

Newsletter Statistics & Tracking

The newsletters I send may contain something called “web beacons,” which are small, invisible images sized at 1×1 pixels. When you open the newsletter, I can detect it through the loading of these images. Newsletters may also include special links, known as “trackable links,” which I can track when you click on them. I do not use this method to monitor your behavior. I collect anonymous information that helps me improve the technical and content quality of the newsletters. Any data that could personally identify you, such as whether you received the newsletter, opened it, or clicked on links, will be automatically and permanently deleted within a maximum of 48 months after the newsletter is sent.

Use of Cookies

Cookies on this Website

Like most websites, this website uses cookies. Cookies are small, harmless text files that do not affect your privacy or the security of your computer. Cookies enhance the usability of the website.

Cookies for Web Analysis

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies,” which are text files placed on your device to help understand how the website is used. The information collected by these cookies, including your IP address (but truncated by the “_anonymizeIp()” process), is sent to and stored on a Google server in the United States. Google uses this information to create reports on website usage and to show me how people use my site. Google may also share this information with others, but only as allowed by law or if Google is commissioned by someone else to do so. Your IP address is never linked to other Google data. If you consent to Google using your data in this way, that’s okay. However, if you do not want this, you can click here to disable Google Analytics on this website. A special cookie will be stored on your device to prevent tracking of your activities on the website, as long as you do not delete this cookie from your browser.

Use of Google Maps

This website may use Google Maps to display maps and virtual tours. This is a mapping service provided by Google Inc. It helps me visually represent locations, but Google also collects data about your behavior on my website. This data is stored in cookies and shared with Google. If you want to know how Google handles this data, please refer to Google’s privacy policy. You can also adjust your personal privacy settings for Google services if you wish.

Embedded YouTube Videos

This website may feature embedded videos hosted on YouTube.com. YouTube.com is a service provided by YouTube LLC in California, USA. When you visit a page with an embedded YouTube video, information about how you use the video is collected. This information is stored in cookies and shared with YouTube. If you are logged in to YouTube.com, YouTube may also associate this information with your personal identity. To prevent this, simply log out of YouTube.com before visiting this website, and your identity will remain private.

Embedded Facebook Plugins

This website may sometimes use Facebook plugins. Facebook is a social network operated by Facebook, Inc. When you visit a page with an embedded Facebook plugin (such as the “Like” button, share button, comments, or news feed), the plugin is loaded from the Facebook website, automatically transmitting information about you to Facebook. This includes your IP address, the address of the visited page, and the time of your visit. If you were previously logged in to Facebook.com and your browser is still logged in, Facebook can identify you and link this information to your Facebook account. Facebook also collects data on how you use the plugins and interact with them. This information may be published on your personal Facebook profile. If you do not want Facebook to collect this data, you can log out of Facebook.com in your browser or install a browser plugin that blocks data storage by Facebook. For more information on Facebook’s privacy policy and how to avoid data storage by Facebook, visit https://www.facebook.com/policy.php.

Cookie Settings

This website requires its own cookies to function properly. If you do not agree to use cookies, we recommend you to leave the website and end your browsing session. Alternatively, you can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting the settings in your web browser accordingly. Please note, however, that this may result in you not being able to fully utilize all the features of this website. You can find the exact steps for blocking cookies in your browser’s guide.
